Government Property 2021
In association with the Cabinet Office and Office of Government Property, the 2021 conference will focus on achieving net zero, innovations in property and estate management, and workplace changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual conference is being held on the 22nd April and is free to attend for public sector delegates.
SCAPE's Performance and Improvement Director, Chris Clarke, Paul Kelly, Director for Strategic Advisory at Mace and Pat Ritchie, Chief Executive of Newcastle City Council are hosting a session at 1:10pm on Place recovery: what will our towns and cities look like and how do we get there?
While large cities boast infrastructure and amenities, people’s choice to reside has often centred around the need to support their employment need, as opposed to a pure lifestyle choice. The move to working from home has seen an increasing transition from large cities to smaller cities, towns, and regions as people seek out a balance between convenience and lifestyle. This trend presents a unique opportunity for local authorities.
How local authorities deal with the regeneration of town centres and communities under the wider Place umbrella, will be key to driving investment and growth while practically addressing the climate emergency and challenges of recent times.
How can councils diversify their town centres and empty spaces to better serve their communities in a way that is sustainable and affordable?
