#ABetterWay is designed to help you respond to the climate emergency and to deepen the conversation on the practical application of the key policies within the Construction Playbook.

We want to help you understand the support available to implement your climate emergency plans, and simplify what the Construction Playbook means for you, your projects, and your approach to procurement.

We’re working with 3Fox International, an organisation dedicated to helping local authorities discuss the key issues at hand, and SCAPE delivery partners Mace, Perfect Circle, Wates and Willmott Dixon, to deliver a four-part webinar series.

Each webinar is free to attend and will feature a panel of expert voices from the public and private sectors, including SCAPE, our delivery partners, and the industry.

The panel for the first session, #ABetterWay | Climate action, on 26th May at 11am-12pm, will discuss turning the climate emergency into climate action, with guest speaker Cllr Georgia Gould, leader of Camden Council, the first council in Britain to convene a climate assembly. She will appear alongside Chris Clarke, director of performance and improvement for SCAPE, and Isabel McAllister, director of responsible business for Mace.

  • Portfolios and longer term contracting
  • Harmonising, digitising and rationalising demand
  • Further embedding digital technologies
  • Benchmarking and Should Cost modelling
  • Pricing and payment mechanisms

With SCAPE Construction delivery partner Willmott Dixon, this webinar will interrogate how we can ensure clients deliver better outcomes, with examples of four key policy areas of the Construction Playbook:

As we look to redefine how our communities and public spaces are designed, built and used, now is the perfect time to establish a better way of doing things."

He continued, “We’re excited to be partnering with 3Fox International to provide our clients with the opportunity to help us explore what this could look like, so that together we are delivering better procurement, better value and better outcomes for everyone."
