SCAPE, Perfect Circle and Stantec will be jointly supporting Reading Borough Council in managing and maintaining its bridges and highway structures.

Stantec, a global leader in in sustainable engineering and design services, was awarded the contract through Perfect Circle, a partner on SCAPE’s Consultancy Framework. The contract, won after a fair and competitive bidding process, covers over 200 structures including 90 bridges around Reading.

Protecting local heritage

Many of the bridges are iconic and historic, such as Christchurch Bridge, which Stantec designed and helped to build. This was the first bridge in Reading to be built over the Thames in nearly 100 years.

We are delighted that this programme of essential maintenance is being accelerated through SCAPE. This long-term investment will help Reading Borough Council to maximise the lifespan of its bridges and highways; creating an efficient and optimised transport system.

Reading Borough Council can be reassured that its crucial infrastructure will be maintained to the highest of standards and will leave a lasting legacy to the community.
